Bauchi Emirate: Creation of New Emirate Will Boost Mineral Exploration, Agriculture

The District Head of Lame, Alhaji Aliyu Yakubu Lame, also known as Sarkin Yakin Bauchi, has expressed optimism that the creation of a new emirate in Lame will help explore the area's rich mineral and agricultural resources.

Speaking in an interview, Lame said the proposed creation of new emirates, districts, and chiefdoms in Bauchi State by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed will bring government closer to the people and enhance development.

"We have billions of natural resources in Lame district, including petroleum, gold, tin, lithium, and iron, which can contribute to Nigeria's growth and development," he said.

Lame praised the governor's initiative, saying it will help harness local and global opportunities for collective progress through genuine investment in agriculture and natural resources.

On the role of traditional institutions in nation-building, Lame commended the Bauchi State Government and the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Dr. Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu, for fostering peace, unity, and cultural preservation in the state.

He also appreciated the governor's support for traditional institutions, noting that the government has built new palaces for emirs and district heads.

Lame urged citizens to continue praying for leaders at all levels, emphasizing that good governance is only possible in an atmosphere of peace, support, and divine guidance.

He also called on both government and private investors to prioritize agriculture and industrial development in the country, saying investing in agriculture could create millions of jobs for Nigerian youths and women while boosting food security and export earnings.

Assessment of Development in Bauchi State

Lame commended the progress made in Bauchi State since its creation, particularly under Governor Bala's administration, which he said has brought about rapid transformation and development.

He cited the construction of beautiful roads, modern hospitals, markets, and government buildings, as well as the rebuilding of local government headquarters and the provision of social amenities.

"The state is transforming, and you can see the difference," he said. "We thank the almighty Allah for the visionary leadership of Governor Bala."
