Enemies to Feel Impact of New Techniques, Procedures of Nigerian Army - COAS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lit:-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede has said that the enemies of the country would soon feel the impact of the newly introduced techniques and procedures in the Nigerian Army.

He stated this in Bauchi on Tuesday shortly after a firepower demonstration exercise at the Victor Kure Armour range, to mark the culmination of the 2025 Combat Arms Training Week (CAT).

Represented by Maj:-Gen. Henry Wesley, Commander Ordnance Corps, Headquarters, Oluyede explained that the federal government had already bought a lot of equipment and weapons to further tackle all forms of insurgency and terrorism.

He added that President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian Army were working vigorously to ensure that the changes they have promised Nigerians were seen and reflected in the field.

“This particular event is very important because we have discussed strategies, operations and tactics and at the end, it is at the tip of the spear that all these will be reflected.

“It was very important that all the participants are brought here to come and see the capabilities that exist right now with which we are using to execute the various operations that we have.

“What we have done is to discuss strategies, review plans and policies and to also practice some of the techniques and the procedures that were recently introduced into our doctrine along with our soldiers and junior commanders.

“What you are expected to see very soon is the change in the tide of activities based on the new modus operandi and how we conduct our operations at all levels.

“The enemies are not here but they will feel it at the end of the day by the time they see us and I speak to you, the government has already bought a lot of equipment and weapons. Some are already in the field, some are still coming,” he stated.

The COAS explained that the fire power demonstration was very important as it acquaints the participants with latest capabilities that existed with which the army was using to execute various operations.

Also speaking, Maj:-Gen. Obinna Ajunwa, the Commander, Armoured Corps, said that the week-long event served as a forum for discussing pertinent issues affecting combat arms operations and other issues affecting the Nigerian Army at large.

He commended all the officers and men present, especially the retired senior officers who took time out of their tight schedule to witness the firepower demonstration exercise.
