BREAKING: Group Withdraws Support for Senator Shehu Buba's Governorship Ambition

A group that had been tirelessly supporting Senator Shehu Buba's governorship ambition in Bauchi State has announced its withdrawal of support. The group, led by Comrade Yusuf Aliyu Fada, Chairman of Senator Shehu Buba Umar Free Medical Outreach, cited the senator's apparent lack of appreciation for their efforts and failure to grant them an audience despite their selfless work in promoting his governorship movement.

According to Comrade Fada, the group had spent over N7.6 million out of pocket to conduct crucial medical outreaches and other activities in support of Senator Buba's governorship bid. They had worked tirelessly to reach out to the unreached communities with vital free medical services, and in doing so, had supported the governorship movement of Senator Shehu Buba. However, despite their dedication and tangible impact, they were consistently denied access to the senator.

The group had conducted medical outreaches in Sabon Garin Nabordo of Toro LGA, where they treated 153 individuals, addressing various medical needs of women, children, and the elderly. They had also expanded their care to another 171 people in Bidir of Katagum LGA, focusing on the health of women, children, and senior citizens.

During the critical cholera outbreak that ravaged Bauchi State in August 2024, the Sen. Shehu Buba Free Medical Outreach Team had stepped forward, undertaking well chlorination, distributing aqua tablets, and conducting essential fumigation in affected communities.

Despite their efforts, the group felt neglected and marginalized. Comrade Fada alleged that other groups with questionable relevance to the movement had been granted access to the senator, while his group was consistently denied an audience. This perceived neglect and marginalization led to the group's painful decision to withdraw their support. The group has also endorsed Dr. Ibrahim Ali Usman as their Bauchi South senatorial candidate for the 2027 elections.

However, an aide to Senator Buba, Alhaji Lalaye, dismissed the allegations, saying that not all members of the group support the views of those who spoke out against the senator. He urged the group to be patient and assured them that Senator Buba values their efforts and will not discriminate against anyone. Lalaye highlighted Senator Buba's commitment to serving the people of Bauchi State, citing his track record of providing medical assistance, human capital empowerment, and infrastructure development.

Lalaye also urged all Bauchi people to exhibit patience and decorum, emphasizing the importance of peaceful and orderly conduct in any activity. He assured the group that Senator Buba is committed to serving all people, regardless of their political affiliations, and that their concerns will be addressed with compassion and commitment. The development has sent shockwaves throughout the state, with many wondering what the future holds for Senator Buba's governorship ambition.
