As the global community commemorates International Labour Day, the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi), has lauded the invaluable contributions of workers to the state’s development.
In a statement issued by Mukhtar Garba Kobi, Spokesperson of the Speaker, Dr. Suleiman described workers as the backbone of society, whose dedication and hard work drive progress and economic growth.
The Speaker highlighted the Bauchi State Government’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare, citing the approval of minimum wage and consistent payment of salaries. He also noted the government’s efforts to provide a conducive working environment through the renovation of secretariats in the state capital and 20 local government areas.
Dr. Suleiman assured that the Bauchi State House of Assembly remains committed to passing legislation that would enhance the welfare of workers in the state. He urged workers to remain dedicated and responsible in their duties, while also calling on authorities to ensure timely payment of salaries, promotions, and retirement benefits.
The Speaker’s message concluded with warm felicitations to workers in Bauchi State, wishing them a happy International Labour Day.
