The Bauchi State Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has announced that the Bauchi State Specialists Hospital is currently undergoing renovation, aimed at upgrading the standard of the hospital and improving healthcare service delivery.
Due to the renovation, some units of the hospital have been relocated to designated health facilities within Bauchi metropolis. The relocated units include:
- Accident and Emergency (A&E), Dental, Medical Ward 1, and Pediatrics, which are now located at the Isolation Centre of the Specialists Hospital.
- Maternity/ANC, Surgery Department, and SCBU, which are now located at Kobi Primary Health Care (PHC) behind MACCA Eye Clinic.
- Immunization, TB DOT, HIV, and Physiotherapy, which are now located at Urban Maternity, Ran Road.
The Commissioner for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Sani Muhammad Dambam, has apologized for any inconvenience this relocation may cause, citing the state's commitment to ensuring smooth and uninterrupted service delivery.
The renovation is part of the state government's efforts to enhance healthcare services, and the ministry has assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain quality care during this period.
