Police Debunk Misleading Video, Explain Incident Involving Motorcyclists

The Bauchi State Police Command has addressed a trending video that allegedly portrays motorcyclists and misrepresents the Nigeria Police Force. According to the command, the video is misleading and aimed at inciting fear and unrest.

In a statement on June 7, 2025, the command explained that on June 5, a patrol unit encountered an incident along Tulu Road involving motorcyclists traveling to Kano State for Sallah celebrations. When signaled to stop, one motorcyclist, Ladan Haruna, failed to comply, resulting in a collision that injured him and his passenger, Ibrahim Abubakar.

The situation escalated when other motorcyclists reacted aggressively, harming a police officer and damaging a patrol vehicle. The police responded by dispatching additional personnel to restore order, and the injured received medical attention.

The command emphasized its commitment to public safety and urged cooperation with law enforcement. It highlighted the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and respecting security personnel to prevent similar incidents.

The Bauchi State Police Command, led by CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, called for caution in sharing information and refraining from actions that disrupt public order. CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Police Public Relations Officer, signed off the statement.
