Sa’adu Zungur University Warns Against Fake Admission Letters

The management of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Bauchi has alerted the public over the circulation of fake admission letters being fraudulently linked to the institution.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Auwal Hassan, the management cautioned that fraudsters are circulating documents titled “Provisional Letter of Admission into Bauchi State University, Gadau, Bauchi State for the 2025/2026 Session” and falsely associating them with SAZU to mislead unsuspecting applicants.

The statement clarified that Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) is a distinct institution and should not be confused with Bauchi State University, Gadau (BASUG), adding that the scammers are exploiting this similarity to deceive prospective students.

It further stressed that admission into SAZU is conducted strictly through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and the University’s official portal, warning that the University has not issued any admission letters for the 2025/2026 academic session outside these channels.

The University cautioned the public against making payments to unauthorized persons under the guise of acceptance fees, describing such demands as fraudulent.

The management urged prospective students, parents, and guardians to confirm all admission offers through JAMB CAPS or the University’s Admissions Office and to report suspicious activities to security agencies.

It also assured that SAZU is working with law enforcement to track and prosecute the perpetrators of the scam.
