Commissioner Wanka’s Benevolence Spurs Youth to Excel in Qur’anic Recitation

Bauchi State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Hajara Yakubu Wanka has given a modest donation of ₦300,000 to support the just concluded Jama’atul Izalatul Bidi’a Wa Iqamatus Sunnahs' (JIBWIS - with its Headquarters in Jos) Qur’anic Recitation Competition.
The donation, made through Hon. Auwal Bukar P.A., Senior Special Assistant to the Bauchi State Governor on Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management was aimed to promote Qur’anic learning and reward excellence among young reciters.
The donation was shared among winners across various categories, including Izu 5, Izu 10, Izu 20, and Izu 60, who received a total of ₦150,000.
An additional ₦100,000 was given to the Bauchi Local Government Area Competition Committee for their organizational efforts, while ₦50,000 was presented to the Coordinator and representatives from Kirfi Local Government Area for their active participation.
Commissioner Wanka expressed hope that the gesture would be accepted as sadaqatul jariyah and inspire others to support Qur’anic education.
The event, held at the Kasuwan Shanu JIBWIS mosque in Bauchi LGA, highlighted the importance of the Qur’an in shaping morally upright individuals and communities.
