Bauchi Govt Donates Vehicles to Boost Peace Efforts in Crisis-Prone LGAs
In a renewed effort to foster lasting peace in Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government Areas, the Bauchi State Government has donated 30 motorcycles and two vehicles to the Committee for the Sensitization on Peaceful Coexistence.
The vehicles were officially presented at the Government House in Bauchi by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, who reiterated Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to promoting peace across the state.
Hammayo emphasized the significance of the committee’s mandate, urging members to intensify grassroots engagement and enlighten communities on the benefits of peaceful coexistence.
"This is in fulfillment of the governor’s earlier pledge. The government remains committed to supporting your activities for the betterment of the entire state," the SSG stated.
The 30-member committee was recently inaugurated to mediate and prevent communal conflicts in the historically volatile local governments.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the committee, Co-Chairmen Malam Faizu Ado Musa Tafawa Balewa and Reverend Father Benson Bature expressed gratitude to the state government and assured that the donated vehicles would be used solely for peace advocacy activities.
They also praised the administration for its swift intervention in containing recent tensions in the area, preventing further escalation.
