Govenor Bala Mohammed Bids Farewell to Bauchi Scholarship Students Heading to China

Governor Bala Mohammed, accompanied by the First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed, on Thursday received a group of Bauchi State students awarded international scholarships to pursue higher education in China.

The students are part of a state-sponsored scholarship program, which has selected 50 beneficiaries. Of these, 20 students have completed all necessary travel clearances and are set to commence degree programs in various academic disciplines at Chinese universities.

During a farewell reception at Government House, Governor Mohammed congratulated the students and urged them to remain focused, law-abiding, and committed to academic excellence. He reminded them of their role as ambassadors of both Bauchi State and Nigeria, encouraging them to uphold integrity and represent the state with pride.

“You are not just traveling to study—you are carrying the hopes and aspirations of our people,” the Governor said. “Make the most of this opportunity, and return to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Bauchi State.”

Also speaking at the event, the First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed, advised the students to uphold discipline, embrace hard work, and maintain strong moral values while abroad. She expressed confidence in their ability to excel and return as future leaders and professionals.

The event marked a significant milestone in Bauchi State’s continued investment in human capital development, with the scholarship program aimed at nurturing a globally competitive and educated youth population.
