The Chief Medical Director of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, Professor Yusuf Bara Jibrin, has been conferred with two prestigious national honours at the Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards 2025, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
The event, organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) under The Presidency, celebrated outstanding institutions and public sector leaders who have demonstrated excellence in governance, innovation, and digital transformation.
ATBUTH Bauchi distinguished itself by emerging as the Best Federal Health Institution in Innovative Use of Technology, an award that recognizes its exceptional achievements in healthcare digitization, improved service delivery, and institutional modernization.
In addition, Professor Yusuf Bara Jibrin received the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer’s Award for his visionary leadership and outstanding contributions to advancing digital governance and innovation within the Nigerian health sector.
Reacting to the recognition, Prof. Jibrin expressed profound appreciation to the hospital’s management team, staff, and students, dedicating the twin awards to their collective efforts. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery, medical research, and digital innovation in line with the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda.
“These awards belong to every member of the ATBUTH family whose dedication and hard work continue to make our institution a model of excellence,” he said. “We will continue to strive for improved patient care, research, and innovation to serve humanity better.”
He was accompanied to the Presidential Villa by members of his family and the hospital’s Director of Administration, Muhammad Jibrin Gamawa, who joined in celebrating the hospital’s achievements.
The Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards recognize institutions and leaders driving technology-based reforms that enhance transparency, efficiency, and citizen satisfaction in the Nigerian public service.
With this recognition, ATBUTH Bauchi continues to consolidate its status as one of Nigeria’s foremost teaching and referral hospitals, renowned for its commitment to service, innovation, and excellence.
